Teach Your Children Well

Denver Public Schools

High School

Each high school offers comprehensive programs emphasizing achievement in English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language, physical fitness, art, music, dance, fine arts and vocational education. In addition, over 800 elective class offerings give students an opportunity to explore areas of interest or work in private industry.

DPS high schools offer 17 college level courses throughout the city. Each high school has accelerated and college level Advance Placement (AP) programs. Any student wishing to take a course not offered in his/her home school is transported to a school that offers the class.

Students passing the AP exam with high grades are given college level credit saving time and money in college. Over half the Denver students taking AP exams score high enough to receive college credit.
