Early childhood education and early intervention programs are available to preschool children in 45 Denver schools. These programs provide children with basics for school and emphasize skill development. In addition, there are numerous parent education programs.

The Montessori program is offered at Mitchell School for children aged 3 through grade 4. It includes Suzuki violin training and other unique offerings. DPS is the only public system in Colorado to offer Montessori.
